Skyview Realty Collects Donations For Campaign SightFirst II
Global Lions Club International Foundation Campaign helped more than 100 million people with impaired vision.
Colchester, CT- Skyview Realty is currently collecting donations for Campaign SightFirst II in an effort to help prevent and treat blindness. This program was created by the Lions Club International Foundation and is a global campaign that has helped to treat more than 100 million people around the world with impaired vision.
“There are 37 million blind people and 124 million suffering with low vision around the world today,” said Jack Faski, Skyview Realty broker. “This program has helped to treat millions of people. It will help millions more, with your help.”
Studies are predicting that the world’s blind population will double to 74 million and those suffering from low vision will double to nearly 250 million by the year 2020. Campaign SightFirst will help to reduce those figures, and could prevent it from happening. The program’s objectives include: developing comprehensive eye-care services, eliminating infectious eye diseases as a cause of blindness, strengthening low-vision services, eliminating childhood blindness, and developing new capacities for controlling glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. Since 1990 Campaign SightFirst saved the sight of 27 million people worldwide, provided 80 million treatments for river blindness, and has helped to build or expand 213 eye hospitals and clinics.
“We’re excited to be a part of this global effort to help prevent and reduce blindness,” said Faski. “Please stop by our office and donate as little or as much as you feel you are able to. No amount is too small! Every donation helps, but the need is great, so we are hoping to raise as much as possible.”
Skyview Realty is located at 87 Lebanon Avenue in Colchester. If someone is not in the office, you can drop off your donation in the front door mail slot, made out to LCIF Campaign SightFirst II. |
